Origins: Red Scare - Monster of the Week (Payton November)

The "Origins" Program

Always wanted to learn to play a new Role-Playing Game? Origins is for you. Join other beginner players and our PRO DM Payton (they/ them) in this short two-session tutorial campaign.  Create your own character from scratch in the first session and then jump in to your first adventure! Origins games are designed to transition into weekly, recurring-campaign "Legends" games after the first month.

While you are welcome to join us for the Origin Sessions on their own, we highly recommend giving Legends a try.

Jump into the action : in this Two Session package, we will get you into the action right away. Our first session will focus on character building and learning the basics of the game, and our second will have us begin our adventure in earnest. Origins games are designed to transition into weekly "Legends" Games after the first month. The Origin is just that: the beginning of a grand adventure.

Cancelation Policy : 

1) If the DM or The Strategist cancel the session, you will be refunded for that session.

2) If enough players cancel on a session such that there are 2 or fewer attending, the session will be canceled and those players that did not cancel will be refunded for the session. Reach out to [email protected] if you need to miss a session.

3) During the week surrounding major Holidays, refunds are given for anyone who needs to miss (and sessions are often canceled)

4) In the case of a Major Life Event (Graduation, Childbirth, etc) you will be refunded for any missed sessions. These exceptions are made on a case by case basis.

To qualify for a refund, you must email [email protected] at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the game if you need to inquire about a cancelation.

Game Description :

Last week’s top story in the seaside hamlet of Storms End, Maine, was a record-breaking trout. This week, it’s murder. Who could have disturbed the arcadian bliss with such a heinous act? The reclusive librarian? The brewery goths? The creatures rumored to lurk beyond the shore? Or perhaps it has something to do with the strange interlopers – Russian exiles from the newly dismantled U.S.S.R. – who arrived last month. As a team of hunters, each with supernatural gifts and expertise, you’ll root out the truth behind these strange and spooky happenings. Join me where small-town intrigue meets grim fantasy in Red Scare: a Monster of the Week adventure.

An Apocalyptic Game : 'Monster of the Week' is a standalone version of the easy to learn "Powered by the Apocalypse" system. 'Monster of the Week' has been played on shows like "The Adventure Zone: Amnesty" and "Dungeon Dudes". 

Based on a "True" Story : Payton has built a scenario based on Twin Peaks, Buffy, Halloween (the movie), and the Blair Witch Project. If you're a fan of any of those, this campaign might appeal to you! Tell your own spooky serial, together with some new friends.
