Face Front, True Believers!
On May 13th 2pm, we will proudly be hosting our first event for Marvel Crisis Protocol. So grab your most honorable heroes and most vile villains as we get ready for a Five Borough Takeover! We want to see your Bruce Banners and Peter Parkers out ferociously fighting in the stellar streets of New York City. "Fantastic" Fabian has been working hard with "Adept" Alex to bring some simply stupendous scenery to the tables to represent all five brilliant boroughs. So dear readers pull out all the stops and show us some serious spell slinging from Stephen Strange, repel the opposition with a raging, riotous Rocket Raccoon (now with 100% more rockets), or get murderous on purpose with mad, malefic M.O.D.O.K.
And Now I will turn this post over to "Fantastic" Fabian to give you the rundown for the event details. Excelsior!
--------
This event will be a unique, casual event based on the normal rules of "Marvel Crisis Protocol". Players will need to have a standard 10 character roster, 10 team tactics cards and their 6 crisis cards (3 secure cards and 3 extraction cards). Here's the unique part! Players will be competing to take over NYC! We will be using a New York subway map to show the Boroughs. The maps and terrain will be pre-set for theme purposes for each Borough. Minimum of 10 players needed. Buy in will be $30.
Matches will be played like a normal game. Players will roll for priority, choose crisis, deploy characters and the play the phases of the game. (Power, Activation and Clean up) A player immediately wins when they score 16 or more VPs. If both players score 16 or more VPs simultaneously, the player with more VPs wins.
If they are tied, neither player wins. Instead, the game continues until one player has scored more VPs than their opponent, at which point they immediately win.
If neither player has won by the end of Round 6, the player with the most VPs is the winner. If both players are tied at this point, the game continues until a player scores VPs and has more than their opponent.
If only one player has characters on the battlefield, they immediately win the game.
Pairings 1 - Pairings will be randomized and so will the Borough you play in.
Pairings 2 - Pairings will be based on a "Take Over" or "Defend" system. This will be determined by a damage report. The damage report will be announced by the judges. Once the report is announced and players are given their options to choose to "Take over" a Borough or "defend" their Boro. Winner of that game moves on to round 3 and automatically wins the opponents territory.
Pairing 3, 4, and 5- Same as "Pairings 2"
Player with the most Boroughs wins the event!
There will be prizes for top 3 (prizing will depend on number of participants)
We hope to see you all!
